Interesting Tidbits
- he does an army crawl, sometimes keeping head up, sometimes forehead on hands.
- walks holding our hands
- he loves to play the drums, or anything that resembles a drum, or just straws in restaurants he can hit the table like a drum.
- sleeps through the night, stays up late
- his hair is so long in front it is in his eyes
- says ‘dada’ and ‘mama’ and ‘up’
- shakes his head no and waves goodbye
- understands ‘no’ when we say it to him. He shakes his head and stops (sometimes… )
- knows he’s not supposed to put things in his mouth. Sometimes without being told he’ll pull something out of his mouth and shake his head ‘no’
- makes the noises for ‘uh oh’ when he drops something but doesn’t have the right syllables for it
- about to outgrow some 9-12 month clothing (particularly pants)
- still only has 4 teeth but is currently teething
- “helps” while putting his clothes on (bends and straightens arm, legs, holds his feet out for socks)
- plays at the playground, scoots himself to the edge of slide to go down
- loves the swings
- dances to music, loves music
- he has had so much separation anxiety this month
- walks along furniture
- loves playing on his scooter, but can only scoot backwards
- “Mirror Ivan” might be his best friend
- he is trying all kinds of new food. His favorite snack is bread and hummus or cheerios
- can feed himself baby food pouches
- dislikes juice, watered down juice, flavored anything – prefers water out of his sippy cup
- he tried almond milk and cow’s milk – hated both of them
- tried peanut butter and loved it
- tried spicy curry and loved it
- tried vanilla soft serve icecream and gave us THE BIGGEST smile.. uh oh…
- can be calmed down by reading books
- he loves to ‘head bonk’
- he loves to give kisses, sometimes demands kisses
- he is the oldest baby in his daycare class now
- can transition from laying down to sitting
- crawls himself into small spaces (under desk, under chairs, under crib or beds)
Ivan Loves:
- eating
- looking at himself in the mirror
- banging on things
- hitting toys together to make loud noise
- reading books
- music
- the sounds of the coffee grinder
Ivan Hates:
- being left alone
- being dropped off at daycare
- when we take him out of the swing too soon
- when we take dangerous things away from him
A special note: no Cuccarese was in the hospital this month!! (except kinda Mike, who goes to one every day… )
