Stats:

weight: 16ish pounds (give or take half a pound)
length: 25.5 inches (this is not an exact science)

Interesting Tidbits

  • Ivan is so happy almost all the time
  • Sits with minimal assistance – he can sit a few seconds unassisted before falling over
  • Ivan rolls over from front to back
  • tries really hard to roll back to front, but not quite there
  • realized he has hands (stares at them in front of his face… ooooh hands)
  • giggles while playing alone
  • loves to talk
  • He is no longer the youngest baby at daycare – he now has two little girls younger than him.
  • Sleeps through the night (8:30-6 most nights, wakes up once some nights)
  • about to outgrow 3-6m pants (will be wearing 6-9 month pants soon – he has wicked long legs)
  • rubs his eyes in this really cute exaggerated way when he’s sleepy
  • sits really well in his Bumbo
  • Ivan flew on an airplane to California this month.  He projectile vomited on the plane, but never once cried.  He tolerated the time change like a champ, though had a few really early nights, and early mornings.
  • Went swimming and learned to splash in the water
  • Put his feet in the pacific ocean
  • This month we think he looks like Emily – but clearly has mike’s jaw line, ears, long legs, and mouth – more blonde than strawberry, blue eyes. His hair is starting to curl up top.  His hair is a dark blonde/brown at the bottom of the back of his head (right under the epic balding spot.) the balding spot is starting to grow in

Ivan Loves:

  • looking and chewing on his own hands
  • plastic rings to chew on
  • reading books
  • holding hands
  • stroller rides (as long as he’s sitting upright and not in carseat)
  • cuddling chest to chest
  • playing on his activity mat
  • having a good conversation
  • his Ergo carrier

Ivan Hates:

  • being hungry
  • being in his carseat when he’s sleepy

Things we’ve learned this month:

  • We are total baby wearing believers.  He’s so calm in there.
  • starting to splash around in the bath
  • Ivan gets on his own schedule (sleep and eating) and is becoming very predictable

fall fun

It was an eventful October weekend – hung out with Grandma Beth, Mena, Monica and Jenai, and we took a trip out to Stow for apple picking. Good times 🙂

Stats:

weight: 14lb 5oz (23rd percentile)
length: 25 inches

Interesting Tidbits

  • Ivan rolls over from front to back
  • is so close to back to front (though, he’s lost interest lately…)
  • found his feet – puts them in his mouth regularly
  • giggles and cackles
  • talks and babbles – carries on conversations
  • he has finished one whole month of going to daycare everyday and is doing great!
  • This month we think he looks like Emily – still has Mike’s mouth and ears – strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes.  His hair is a dark blonde/brown at the bottom of the back of his head (right under the epic balding ring)
  • Sleeps through the night (8:30-4:30, a feeding, and then back to sleep until 6:30-7)
  • we can hip hold him one handed!

Ivan Loves:

  • holding hands
  • his unnamed animal – or lovey (whose animal identity we have yet to figure out…)
  • country music
  • stroller rides (as long as he’s sitting upright and not in carseat)
  • being bounced on an exercise ball
  • cuddling chest to chest
  • Staring out the window
  • playing on his activity mat
  • having a good conversation
  • his Ergo carrier

Ivan Hates:

  • being hungry
  • being in his carseat when he’s sleepy
  • when he’s tired, he hates everything…
  • anything going near his nose (nosefrida is NOT his friend…)

Things we’ve learned this month:

  • We are total baby wearing believers.  He’s so calm in there.
  • Bouncing on the exercise ball is still useful
  • Co-sleeping is wonderful (we only let him sleep with us in the spare bed, for the last hour or two in the morning or naps)
  • Ivan tolerates the bath – but doesn’t love it.
  • Riding in the car is made much easier with toys – but sometimes we have to hold hands (while driving) which also works for a fussy Ivan.
